Community and Economic Development

The Department of Community Development is responsible for planning, administering and implementing programs designed to conserve and expand the housing stock, revitalize commercial areas and acquire, maintain and market vacant land.

Economic development is vital to a community because it involves the process of targeted activities and programs that work together to enhance the economic wellbeing and quality of life of a community by building local wealth, diversifying the economy, creating and retaining jobs and growing the local tax base.
