Memorial Park Pond

Pond webOur beautiful Memorial Lake Pond is the focal point of our Memorial Park grounds, at 14600 State Road. The pond is home to many fish, turtles, geese and frogs. It is typically stocked each year in May, ahead of the annual George Modock Jr. Memorial Fishing Derby in June, with various fish including channel catfish and bluegill. GeeseFishing is permitted but is strictly catch and release only. We do ask that fishing guests avoid casting lines near the pond fountain, and that they tidy up after themselves and avoid leaving any fishing lines or hooks about, as geese, and children, do frequent the pond area. The operation of watercraft of any kind, including kayaks and paddleboards, is strictly prohibited. Also, please know that swimming is not allowed, and pets are not permitted in the water. Ice skating on the frozen pond in the winter is also not allowed.
We recently installed a new asphalt path that circles the entire pond and park grounds. Leashed dogs are permitted on the path, we just ask that residents tidy up after them. Though leashed dogs are permitted at Memorial Park, they are not allowed inside the nearby pavilions, Splash Pad and Playground. They are also prohibited on the volleyball, basketball, tennis and pickleball courts. Thank you for helping us follow these rules to keep the pond, and park grounds, a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone.
