Parks and Recreation
North Royalton has a great deal of both passive and active recreation. Approximately 9 percent of the City's total area consists of parkland, which includes the Cleveland Metroparks all-purpose trail, Aukerman Park and York Road Archery Range; Memorial Park, which features a playground, two basketball courts, one baseball field, six tennis courts, two volleyball courts and a skate park; our York Road Ballfield Complex has eight baseball fields; and Heasley Field features three soccer fields.
North Royalton is also home to the North Royalton Family YMCA, which serves as our community recreation center. This 50,800-square-feet building includes an aquatic center with an eight-lane, 25-yard competitive swimming pool, a whirlpool, sauna, locker rooms, four family changing rooms, an elevated indoor track, a 4,500-square-feet fitness center and a 1,700-square-feet weight room. Also included in the center is a group exercise studio, cycling room, a 6,000-square-feet gym and an outdoor playground. University Hospitals Parma Medical Center has added a physical therapy center there with a separate entrance within the YMCA facility.
